There is nothing like the ritual of putting on the kettle to initiate a sense of calm in the midst of a stressful day. There have even been scientific studies showing that simply holding a cup a tea can start to lower the stress response. And of course, when that cup of tea is full of relaxing nervines, the effects are even stronger.

This is that kind of a tea, it’s a tea that makes you feel like you’re getting a warm hug from a good friend. It’s the perfect tea to steep for your loved ones, or just for yourself when you need to unwind. It’s nourishing to the nervous system, without being sedative, so you can drink it any time you need to take the edge off, or share it with a friend while unpacking all the latest drama—also known as “spilling the tea” of course!

Ingredients:

Linden: Flowers and leaves of the linden tree gently uplift and heal the heart.

Lemon Balm: This calming, yet uplifting herb, is my number one go to for easing anxiety. It also helps with irritability, insomnia and lack of focus. Plus it’s delicious.

Rose petals: Roses comfort the nervous system, gladden the heart, and ease grief. Just like a warm hug from a best friend.

Milky oats: This herb is high in minerals, and helps ease that “wired but tired” feeling.

Motherwort: Often described as the number herb for when you feel overworked and underappreciated! Motherwort is good for the nerves and the heart and eases the whiplash of emotional roller coasters.

Butterfly pea flowers: These flowers give this tea is rich blue hue. They are also packed with anti-oxidants.

Lavender: Possibly the most famous herb for relaxation, lavender also adds a nice grounding flavor to this herbal tea.

To use: Steep 2 teaspoons in 8 oz of hot water for approximately 10 minutes. Add honey, if you like. Enjoy!
